I'm planning to sell my Felicity scenes & settings. Since it's large I'm planning to cover it in bubble wrap. Where do I find a box to fit this size item? I usually mail smaller packages and just go down to a mom & pop type pharmacy/post office. I would prefer to get a box to bring home and then leisurely put it all together. I was planning to get it all together and then take it to the mom & pop to send. Would UPS be better than a major post office? Is there some other venue where you all buy large-item boxes?

In addition, I hate having to pay for boxes so the cheapest route would be my preference.

I would say the best thing to do would be to make your own box. Go to an appliance store or somewhere where they might have extra boxes (either ask them or just get one from the back in the dumpster ) Then just fold it and tape it up to the right shape. Otherwise you'll pay so much more for a box that is bigger than what you need. Also, don't forget the scenes and settings is a book, so it can go media mail.

Good Luck! I wish I had one of those.

I agree . . . make your own! USPS smiles favorably on making your own packages. They will even let you mail an unpackaged tennis shoe, etc. (or at least used to. I wonder if they changed this recently).

One of the easiest ways to make a box is to check store dumpsters for cardboard. I had to make a huge box for a gag gift (crate for a leg lamp), and this was the source of the cardboard. It was all perfectly clean, and made free packaging.

    Good luck!

Thank you for the suggestion of making my own box. I will definitely go that route, plus I love the idea that it's free.
